In this talk, I give an overview of the travel industry, the different players, and how AI/ML is used by these players to garner competitive advantage.

Jack is Director of Data Science and Engineering at Expedia Group, where he leads the pricing, search, algorithmic bidding, and personalization functions for the Hotwire brand. He has over 10 years of experience with statistical machine learning, software engineering and big data pipelines.
Jack has scaled out machine learning products at some of the best companies in the world, including: predictive modeling and trade automation for multi-million dollar derivatives portfolios, terabyte-scale pricing and recommender systems for Amazon’s product pages, and personalized omnichannel marketing for an iconic American beverage brand.
Previously, he was a Project Leader at BCG, helping Fortune 500 companies bridge business, product, and change management strategy with bleeding-edge big data and advanced analytics solutions.
